DBS EP 001 – Citrus, Samples & ((Diverse))

dbs_medium

Not that you, the public, has noticed, but I’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of this EP for months now! The entire Denver Bass Squad (DBS) crew submitted tracks, voted internally on the best ones, and this is the result, some top-notch tunes from myself, Samples, and ((Diverse)).

All 3 tracks are zipped up, and are high-quality mastered 320 MP3s. You can download them HERE via basslabmusic.com.

Thank you so much for your support!

“Whomp” documentary feat. Citrus, Just Ben & The Whomp Truck!

I had the pleasure of being interviewed and featured in a short documentary about raves and electronic music and culture. The film crew also tagged along on a First Friday outing with the Whomp Truck Crew. It was a lot of fun and I’m glad I got to share a little bit of my perspective with the world!

THUMP! @ Bat Country & Caffeine Reminder!

So, another reminder for Caffeine; it’s rare to see the glitch and the dub at a massive, so please come down and show your love!

If you can’t make it to Caffeine, then come get down with me the night before at Bat Country (27th & Larimer). There will be some top-notch local talent reppin at this party :)

Glitch Hop @ CAFFEINE??? Yep! Dubstep too!

Oh, the times, they are a changing! It’s a wide world of music out there, and the cutting edge will always slice through to be heard.

I’ll be playing a glitch hop and dubstep set, and my boy Ishe from the Blingfaced crew will be dropping some dub as well!

For those who haven’t heard, Rusko will also be playing at Global Dance Festival this year (also thrown by Triad Dragons). Dubstep is blowing up all over the map, and I think glitch hop is soon to follow; so much crossover potential, and so much variety… it is an emergent form and I am excited to be a part of it!

2.26 event postponed.

The special hip/glitch-hop set I was supposed to do on the 26th has been postponed, which is a little disappointing. The planned venue has been taken off the slate, so the event is being rescheduled.

I was looking forward to doing something different, and being able to share some of my favorite old hip hop tracks; think Cannibal Ox, Gangstarr, KRS-One, Def Squad, Wu-Tang, Rugged Man, J-Zone, etc.

That’s okay, soon enough! Back to work in the meantime…

Friday 2.05 .:. First Friday Art Walk & BETA BPL!!!

The WHOMP Truck is back again for the First Friday Art Walk. Sidewalk party GO!

(Time and location is variable, but we’re easy to find, just follow the bass!)

Also, don’t forget to scroollll down the page here and find the flyer for the show at Beta. There is a FREE GUESTLIST for those 21+ before 11 PM, as well as a discount list ($10) for 18+ until 11. Gonna be a goood good night :)
